Time 'wasted' in tackling CO2 emissions

In an exclusive interview, US President Barack Obama's chief scientific advisor tells the BBC the United States is moving towards becoming a leader in the climate change debate rather than lagging behind other countries.A critic of the previous Bush administration, Dr John Holdren says the last eight years have been "wasted" in tackling CO2 emissions.He claims that science will no longer be subjected to public relations spin and he hints that the US is unlikely to meet Bush's target of returning to the moon by 2020.Dr Holdren spoke to the BBC's Science Correspondent, Pallab Ghosh, in his first international interview since taking his post.
