Tiger Woods has been reflecting on his recent Master's performance and his recovery from knee surgery. The world's number one golfer believes he was close to being in contention for his fifth green jacket. "I was in the periphery of being right there in the mix. I was just a fraction off," he said. "Stevie Williams and I were talking about how many times you hit a shot that was one yard off. And that one yard is 30 and 40 feet at Augusta. It just takes the wrong side of a slope, and that just seemed to happen all week." Woods expressed disappointment with his play and said his efforts in the early rounds cost him the tournament. "I got probably as much as I could have got out of my round on Sunday. My other rounds no, I did not, I made a couple mistakes on the last couple holes. The way I warmed up on Sunday and the way I hit on Sunday was not very good. "To shoot the score I got, I mean, that was a round I should have probably shot a one or two over par and I got a 68." He added: "The other rounds were rounds in the high 60s I turned into 70s. It's just something you can't afford to do and I did it three times. In the end that's what ended up costing me a very good chance at the golf tournament." Woods has also joined with several other prominent international players, including Vijay Singh, Padraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia and Colin Montgomery to promote the inclusion of golf in the 2016 Olympic Games. He said: "I think that golf has become more global and it has expanded. I think golf, with it's rich history, would certainly be a great fit for the Olympics."
