The Philippines become the United States responsibility. The Tydings-McDuffie Bill is introduced for Filipino independence. President Roosevelt signs it. 1934- Map of the South China Sea illustrating the many different cultures: Negritos- the fast disappearing aboriginees. In their village- a hunter shows his spear points, a villager builds a fire and several of the men show how to climb trees. Igorotes- a type of early pagan immigrants. Women and children sit and stare, a man stops and poses, shows the surrounding landscape, preparing and eating food with a dog to clean up the left overs. Moros- Malay Moslems of the south. Three men on horse back make their way through the town. One of them is holding an umbrella. House on stilts with a ladder that leads to the front door. Children look out from the house. Shots of a whole village built on water. Men in the ocean fishing with nets, two men on a boat and shots of the villagers. Chinese, Spaniards- different memorials with a signs that read, "A Hernando De Magallanes" and "Glorias Espanolas 1520." A church bell rings, inside a church, towns people with long stalks walking, horse drawn buggies, a whole bunch of men in a field lifing a hut and moving it and a whole bunch of women pose for the camera. The Pillippines And Its Resources- Minerals, climate, money crops, food crops & crafts. What The United States Has Done For The Philippines- Land reforms, export trade, 50% Filipino owned, transportation, city building, health, education, self defence & self government. The Philippines become the pledge of a new era. A Free World.
