Now that we have got the basics, Mr. Townsend has been nice enough to let us in on some more advanced techniques. Who knew there was so much gamesmanship and cloak and dagger down in the trenches?! I like the whole “I am going to take this play off face” followed by the unleashing of all that is nasty on g_d’s green earth move. Mr. Townsend also lets us in on the “I’m gonna knock you over sucka and then you hit him with a swim technique or something dainty like that” play. This is also known as the “macho to swift move”. Man, that just sounds cool to say: “macho to swift move.” Try it, it feels cool, especially as one word: “macho to swift move.” And just in case you missed it, Mr. Townsend doesn’t want “to hear no talk about holding.” It is only holding when the referee calls it. Indeed, Mr. Townsend explains that “coach ain’t listening to you telling him that he was holding you!” Finally, I would feel remiss if I did not leave you with some ways that Mr. Townsend’s tutorial can help you in your everyday life: 1) It is only a foul if the ref blows the whistle. 2) Try to work the macho to swift move into your life. Any way, any how! 3) Even if they are nice, refer to fit, muscular men over 250 pounds as Mr. unless expressly told otherwise 4) Safety is no accident This last one was not in the Townsend tutorial but I thought it worth mentioning. -OrinMoore!
