The Indian Pacific Railway Train - Sydney to Perth

This Glenn Ridge outback story focuses on the Indian Pacific Highway. The story also looks at the town of Cook in the Nullabor Plane. The train journey starts from Sydney Central station and ends at Perth. It takes you right through the heart of Australia. The train is 662 metres long and 25 carriages long. The track itself was made with political will and skillful engineering as with Federation came the promise of linking the East with the West of Australia. A new track had to be built from Kalgoolie to Port Augusta and camels were used to haul the tracks and tools through the desert. the Indian Pacific railway train driver discusses his job role and his love of driving the trains and what he sees along the way.
