The end of the world is coming in 2012.

Director Roland Emmerich packs in the special effects in his latest epic doomsday film, 2012. The highly anticipated disaster movie from the man behind blockbusters such as Independence Day, stars John Cusack and Thandie Newton. The film's plot blends the idea of the Mayan calendar, which predicts the world ending in 2012, with natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, typhoons and glaciers plaguing the planet. Asked if he thinks the ancient calendar might actually be true Roland joked saying he doesn't know, but then adding it is not something he believes will happen. 2012 is out now.
