The Daldrup Family Business - Working Underground

Daldrup & Söhne specialize in subterranean drilling - looking not only for raw materials and water but above all geothermal energy. Rising oil and gas prices in recent years led to a flood of orders for the family-run company set up in 1946. Turnover increased 40 percent in 2007 to 25 million euros. The company was floated on the stock market a year ago, with company boss Josef Daldrup investing the proceeds in a high-tech plant that can drill to depths of 6,000 meters. Dagmar Zindel takes a look around.
