British Airways has criticised Heathrow Airport for being unable to cope with this week's security alert. The company said Heathrow's operators, the British Airports Authority, could not handle the extra security and baggage checks. British Airways has cancelled ten US and a quarter of its short-haul flights from Heathrow. Budget carrier Ryanair said the government should provide additional staff to deal with security - or risk Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted 'grinding to a halt'. Across the country, passengers endured a third day of disruption and BAA said there could be worse to come.
