Swimming superstar Michael Phelps has said he is unlikely to be breaking any world records at the Fina World Cup. Phelps, winner of 14 career Olympic gold medals, said he simply was not in great shape at the moment. "There are a lot of things that I can improve on and a lot of things that I can change to be better than what I am right now - not in the best shape." The American, who won a record eight gold medals in Beijing last year, said he would swim in a new suit in preparation for next year's competitions, when rules on swimsuits are due to change. The introduction of performance-enhancing suits containing polyurethane has rocked the sport, with world records being constantly broken. Phelps, who is using a Speedo bodysuit widely regarded as less performance-enhancing than others, said that the new suits had taken something away from the sport by lessening personal accomplishments and by not having them any more, swimmers would have to show what they were made of. "(It) kind of will force someone to work harder to be in even better shape to try to swim faster than they swam before and I think that's going to show the character that somebody has and if they want it bad enough they will really have to work for it. They won't just put a suit on to get there," he said.
