Surprised By A Cowbell! - TGP Digital Short

While videotaping short clips at the George Street Mardi Gras Halloween Boo-Nanza of the crowd dressed up on George Street in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, I happened upon these two guys who were re-enacting some quotes from the SNL (Saturday Night Live) sketch called "VH1 - Behind The Music - The Blue Oyster Cult". They are supposed to be Will Ferrel and Christopher Walken playing the characters of Gene Frenkle (from Blue Oyster Cult) and famed producer Bruce Dickenson. The premise of the sketch was that Bruce Dickenson wants "More Cowbell!" in the song "Don't Fear The Reaper" that The Blue Oyster Cult were trying to record in the studio for the first time with Gene Frenkle hitting the cowbell while other members of the band are annoyed at the over-powering sound of the cowbell (a little used instrument in music). It gave way to some memorable quotes from Christopher Walken such as "I Could Have Used More Cowbell!" or "I Got To Have More Cowbell!" or my personal favourite from the sketch and the clip.. "I Got A Fever... And The Only Prescription... Is More Cowbell!" The funny thing was, I was just after adding the "More Cowbell" application to my profile on Facebook around a week before this was shot on Saturday, Oct. 27th. This was not planned and I do not know these guys and as you can tell from my voice and me joining in, I was surprised and excited to see them in a funny way! The guy being Will Ferrell must have had a mask on but the other guy was dressed up EXACTLY like Christopher Walken playing Bruce Dickenson in the SNL sketch! Kudos to them! The video stops when it did so I could get a quick picture of them as well before we moved on (or the crowd moved us on!) :-) It is short and sweet and warrants the honours of my first truely video only upload to YouTube.
