These video stockshots were made at the time that the Council of Ministers extended Objective 1 status to Merseyside/Liverpool and the Highlands and islands of Scotland. The pictures show examples of Structural Funds assistance under Objective 2. For Merseyside (Objective 2), the projects include a new Eurorail Terminal and port, business parks on old docklands, new hi-tech industries, restoration of a theatre and a maritime museum. For Scotland and the islands(Objective 5b) projects include a Fisheries college, home made tweed weaving, new ferry boat, infrastructure and cultural heritage centre.
