State taking over key rail route
One of Britain's key rail routes is to be taken into public hands from midnight.National Express - which has been operating the East Coast Mainline - says it is too expensive to run, but the government has refused to renegotiate the contract.Ministers say staff and services will be unaffected.Helen Fawkes reports.
