Spanish Police Seize Four Tons of Cocaine

STORY: Four tons of cocaine seized before dawn by Spanish authorities. It was being smuggled into the country by men on a six-engine speedboat. The rocky Galician coastline, notoriously dangerous for ships, is a favorite entry route to Europe for cocaine traffickers. Police checking the bags to see exactly what they're dealing with, sources say it is pure and not mixed with any other substances, giving it a street value of three hundred and twenty million dollars. Passers by can only look on in amazement. Over 117 tons of cocaine was seized in Europe in 2006, according to the European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction, including some 50 tons seized in Spain.
