SPACE: Satellites orbiting sun send back first 3D images

A pair of identical satellites orbiting the sun have sent back the first 3D images of the surface of the star. Cameras on the pair of NASA satellites, nick-named "stereo", work together like a pair of eyes to create the images. The 3D effect will help scientists understand and improve predictions of violent solar storms which can knock out satellites and power supplies on Earth. sun pix
