Soccer great Gullit pans U.S. MLS

In a frank interview, given two months after his resignation, the Dutchman said LA Galaxy and England midfielder David Beckham faced a near impossible task to elevate soccer to the heights of mainstream U.S sports. Gullit, a former World and European Player of the Year, said he strongly felt that American soccer organisers were less interested in promoting football than in protecting U.S. sports.
