Snow Storm Pounds Jerusalem, North, Sputtering 20 Inches Of Snow In North

Heavy snow continues to assault Jerusalem Wednesday as a winter storm lingers over Israel. Residents of the Holy City stayed indoors as several inches of snow - and counting - continue to fall. The municipality dispatched a hundred snow plows to salt the streets, but evidence of their work was hard to come by. Most streets are devoid of cars. In the meantime, the city is making a special effort to clear areas around the Knesset. The Government wants to make sure there are no delays in releasing the Winograd Report. Elsewhere in the country, Mount Hermon and Galilee Region saw up to 20 inches of snow, while Tel Aviv braced for heavy winds and rain. The snow is expected to continue through Thursday. This is Israel's first major snow in years.
