Belgrade's fourth annual Beer Fest attracted record numbers of visitors from all over the world on Sunday (August 20). The festival was held at the park of Belgrade's Kalemegdan fortress where the Sava and Danube rivers meet. More than 30 stands provided a variety of beers, including a blueberry brew and the Cannabi beer made from hemp. Over 400,000 litres was drunk over the five days of the festival. Entry to the festival was free with the price for a glass of beer ranging from the equivalent of 50 cents to 2 euros. Organisers were thrilled with the numbers of people who attended. "Tonight we are closing the Belgrade Beer Fest, this is the last night. This has been the fourth year since the beginning of the festival, which has seen a total of one million visitors. This year the numbers are much higher," said public relations officer Ivana Nikolic. There was also live music and amusement park rides to keep the guests entertained. Many also chose to take part in competitions, such as a wet t-shirt contest for women, and a speed drinking event for the men.
