Security: Worries over surveillance levels

From citizens to suspects? Signs of mounting concern over the Government's apparent enthusiasm to capture every detail of our lives on countless databases. Today the Nuffield Council on Bioethics launched an inquiry into police powers to take and store DNA from suspects and witnesses. The British Medical Association said it was worried about how patient details will be stored on the new NHS computer system. And tomorrow, the Information Commissioner is expected to signal his worries about how just much information is being gathered and held.
