Scotland's George Burley and Barry Ferguson on Argentina

Diego Maradona insists he will not lose any sleep if Scotland's assistant boss Terry Butcher refuses to shake his hand before Wednesday night's friendly against Argentina. Former England captain Butcher said he will never forgive Maradona for the 'Hand of God' goal which helped knock his country out of the 1986 World Cup. Speaking in Glasgow ahead of his first match in charge of Argentina at Hampden Park, Maradona said: "I don't know why Butcher is taking this attitude. I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. "If Butcher doesn't shake my hand, I'll still be alive tomorrow." Maradona, 48, who scored his first international goal at Hampden 29 years ago, said he hopes to make the Tartan Army happy again. He said: "If I get the chance to make them happy again, that would be marvellous. "It's a very proud moment for me to be heading the Argentina national side." On returning to the scene of his first international goal, he said: "It's something that was very special to me." But Butcher's feelings are clear: "I wouldn't want to speak to him." But added: "It's a huge match for us. Its a huge global event because it's his first game. It's wonderful to be part of that." Butcher has told the Scotland players they will never forget this week's match. He added: "You will always remember this game against Argentina. With me it's for the wrong reasons, but hopefully for the rest of the boys it's for the right reasons."
