Science: Possibilities of asteroid hitting Earth

British scientists believe the possibility of an asteroid striking Earth might be less than 30 years away. Their best guess at the moment is that a thousand foot wide piece of rock will just miss us - but they'd like to be more certain, and that could mean heading into deep Space to take a look. Astrium, based in Stevenage, Herts, wants a probe to track the asteroid so its orbit can be better understood.
