Rooper's pride at new Austen drama

Jemima Rooper has been talking about the much-hyped new ITV1 drama, Lost in Austen. It is a reinvention of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice in which she plays Amanda Price, an ardent fan of the author who lives in present day London with her boyfriend Michael. Everything is fine until she finds out she's swapped places with Austen's much-loved character Elizabeth Bennet. The cast also stars Elliot Cowan as Mr Darcy as well as Hugh Bonneville and Alex Kingston who play Mr and Mrs Bennet. Rooper, 26 - who has previously starred in teen angst series Sugar Rush, based on the Julie Burchill book, and As If, as well as fantasy drama Hex - thinks Cowan does total justice to Mr Darcy. She said: "He's fantastic, I think he's a perfect Mr Darcy - he's very handsome and looks very good wet. And he's a fabulous actor."
