A strong earthquake shook Southern California just before noon Tuesday. THIS WAS THE WORST I'VE EVER FELT. IT JUST KEPT GOING AND GOING [Notes:animation: caltech]The U-S Geological Survey said the 5-point-4 magnitude quake was centered 29 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles-- near Chino Hills in San Bernardino County. It's estimated that the quake was about 8 miles below the earth's surface. The jolt was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, in Las Vegas and across the border in Tijuana, Mexico. "People understandably are very nervous." California is one of the world's most seismically active regions.
