Every day, almost half a million of London's children go to bed in squalid, temporary or overcrowded accommodation. The homeless charity, Shelter, says there is a severe crisis in social housing and is launching a campaign calling on the Government to build tens of thousands of extra homes with enough room to hold even the biggest families.
