Benazir, Nawaz cannot return before polls: Musharraf President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Thursday said former premiers Benazir Bhutto and Nawaz Sharif would not be allowed to return to Pakistan before the next general elections. In an interview to a Aaj TV channel, he said extremism and militancy had increased in the country. He said the al-Qaeda militants, who were present in Waziristan, would be eliminated from there. He said the reference against Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Chaudhry was being politicized, which had led to the killings in Karachi. He said a full-court bench of the Supreme Court had been constituted on the issue. The president said some elements were trying to establish his link with the MQM, and that some people were attributing the Karachi killings to ethnic factors. He added that the Kashmir problem was under consideration and Pakistan and India were close to its solution.
