The runaway success of Britain's Got talent winner Paul Potts looks set to secure him a top spot in the charts. The opera singing sensation has released debut album One Chance, this week and is already predicted to sell 100,000 copies by the weekend. The former mobile phone salesman is even outselling his closest rival the Enemy by five to one.HMV's Gennaro Castaldo said: "It's incredible how TV can take a complete unknown artist and catapult him to overnight chart success."Paul's brand of music has very wide appeal, as the likes of Il Divo and G4 have shown. This gives him every chance of connecting with a wider audience, and you only need a portion of the show's TV viewers to go out and buy the recording for it to become a huge hit."Potts, 36, attracted a huge fanbase when he appeared on the TV talent show. His rendition of Nessun Dorma has been watched by over ten million people on YouTube making him an overnight success. So it was no surprise when Potts was signed up to a £1 million deal with Simon Cowell's record label SyCo Music, part of Sony BMG.One Chance is set to be released in 15 countries after the amateur opera singer from Port Talbot became a global sensation."It's unbelievable. Four weeks ago I was in the store selling phones," Potts said when her heard his old employer Carphone Warehouse would be selling his albums in its stores.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
