Downing Street breakfast hosted by Prime Minister Tony Blair for expectant mothers and nurses involved in the Nurse Family Partnership, a new 7.5 million pound scheme aimed at targetting those most at risk of social exclusion. Under the scheme mothers identified as most likely to be affected by drugs, criminality or social exclusion would receive weekly visits from nurses or health visitors while pregnant and until their child was two. The scheme is part of a series of policy reviews backed by Mr Blair as part of his legacy before departing office.
