POLICE: Safer Neighbourhood Schemes: Mayor hails three years of success

They are called 'Safer Neighbourhood Teams' and are made up of a Sergeant, two PCs and three Community Support Officers, with a team patrolling every council ward in London. It's exactly three years since they started - the very first deployment was to the Stonebridge Estate in Brent. The Mayor of London was back there to hail the success of the scheme.
