POLICE: Proposals for changes to national DNA database

POLICE: Proposals for changes to national DNA database

If a new police proposal gets the go ahead, the DNA of people who commit even minor offences, could be kept on a national DNA database. At the moment DNA can only be taken from people who commit offences that carry a prison sentence. Many critics of the proposal say that the changes amount to another attack on civil liberties.
