POLAND: Civic Platform party win parliamentary elections

Poland's conservative Kaczynski twins have lost parliamentary elections to the centre-right opposition party, after record numbers of Poles turned out to vote. Preliminary results gave Poland's centre-right Civic Platform Party 42 per cent of the vote. Civic Platform leader, Donald Tusk, is expected to be prime minister in a coalition with the centrist Peasant's Party, with promises of economic reform and better relations between Poland and its EU allies.
