
Gordon Brown has publicly apologised for a letter of condolence he sent to the mother of a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.Jacqui Janes had called the letter about her son's death a "hastily scrawled insult".The Sun newspaper - which first reported the story - has printed the transcript of a recorded telephone call between Jacqui Janes and the Prime Minister.In the conversation she criticised the equipment given to British forces.Gary O'Donoghue reports.
