Hello! I'm Kristin Volk with today's news update on this Tuesday, the 22 day of April 2008. Pennsylvania residents are heading to the polls today to vote in their state's Democratic primary. The state has 158 delegates at stake. Senator Barack Obama leads in the delegate count, the popular vote and the states won so far this primary season. If his rival, Senator Hillary Clinton, wins today, it would allow her to make a small dent in Obama's lead. Pennsylvania polls close at 8 pm eastern standard time tonight. Osama bin Laden's chief deputy says attacks on Western countries that have been involved with the Iraq war are in the works. Ayman al-Zawahiri reportedly made the statement in an audiotape released on an Islamic website today. Al-Zawahiri also criticized Iran of trying to extend its power in the Middle East, particularly in Iraq and through its Hezbollah allies in Lebanon. Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is calling on his neighboring countries to stop terrorists from crossing their borders. He also says he's disappointed that his neighbors haven't done enough to his war-torn nation. Iraq's neighbors have previously made pledges to help the country, but there's reportedly been little follow through. They've also promised to open diplomatic missions in Baghdad, but none has done so yet. Sales of existing homes dipped in March. That's after a modest increase the month before. Sales by homeowners fell 2 percent to an annual pace of 4.93 million. The number was down 19 percent from a year ago.
