Ortiz Gets First Homer as Bosox Crush Toronto 8-3

Big Papi's dad flew into town to tell his son, hey kid, it can't get any worse right now, so just have fun. The fatherly encouragement seemed to work as David Ortiz hit one of the 4 homers that the Red Sox sent over the fences in a 6 run 5th inning. Papi said he felt like the "monkey was off his back" as he snapped his longest homerless hitting streak at 150 at-bats. Jason Varitek, Mike Lowell, and Jason Bay also hit HRs for Boston as they soundly beat Toronto 8-3.
