The old guard of rock 'n' roll turned out at the Brewery in East London to pick up an award or two and to reminisce about old times.Ozzy Osbourne was named the Mojo Icon, but he was pretty realistic about it's significance, saying: "There's awards everyday now. They'll end up having a best awards show for the best awards show."The Black Sabbath frontman was much more interested in hooking up with fellow rock dinosaurs The Doors, Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper, who said: "It's like there's always some punk kid who thinks he's faster. We're like old gunslingers."Although as Iggy and his co-Stooges confessed, these days the younger bands might have something on them:"They can drink us under the table any day. I'm more good at the passing out part," he said. The more experienced performers were certainly more chatty than the youngsters with Bjork and Damon Albarn not doing any interviews and Amy Winehouse turning up an hour late.Mojo Legend winner Ike Turner summed up why the oldies make the best party guests. He said, "I'm enjoying myself. When you're 75 you can enjoy anything."© Independent Television News Limited 2007. All rights reserved.
