Notes: Signs point toward success

Now that Rodrigo Lopez is in the bullpen and Hayden Penn is in the rotation, Baltimore has a five-man starting staff that is almost completely homegrown. Four of the five starters -- Penn, Daniel Cabrera, Erik Bedard and Adam Loewen -- have been developed by the Orioles and have never pitched for another organization.
