Following the Health Sector members voting Yes for industrial action, the National Industrial Committee met on Friday, 14 November and agreed that the first day of action will be Wednesday 3 December 2008. Our Health Sector workers have made a stand to protect their standard of living and have voted to take industrial action over the derisory three year pay deal that has been imposed. Despite the downturn in the economy and despite job losses hitting the headlines every day, they have demonstrated their anger by voting in favour of action to protect their standard of living, protect their pensions and protect their futures. As well as holding high profile demonstrations at selected NHS locations across the UK on 3 December, we are asking all members to support the day of action by working to rule. We have issued a warning that strike action in the New Year is on the cards if ministers dont make concessions.
