New Year's Eve Disneyland 2009 Team JMP

This is me and my friends, affectionately called 'Team JMP' at Disneyland for New Year's Eve. The park was packed and we staked out a bench in front of the castle at 8:00 AM that morning, taking turns holding it down. The weather was cold but no wind, and the 9:30 PM holiday fireworks went off without a hitch. Early in the evening, around 8 PM we were joined by a couple of Japanese foreign exchange students, studying international relations in Washington. We gave them part of the bench because they were cool. By 9:30 PM they were joined by 6 or 7 more friends, all students, and we welcomed them too. We all danced and tried to talk to one another, they spoke enough English to get by. Mike even danced with Akiko :) With all the lights and music it was easy to ignore the fact that a pretty dense fog had settled in and by the time midnight came and the fireworks went off, we couldn't see anything. Only a couple of times did the blasts from the fireworks light up visibly, only the sound indicated that a huge, expensive fireworks show was going off over our heads lol. Afterwards, we stayed in the park until it closed at 2:00 AM. The fog was surreal and I took plenty of pictures. Definitely be back next year :)
