NATURE: Parakeets under threat in London

Parakeets have made London and the South East their home - in Richmond Park, Greenwich and Esher. There are thought to be about 30,000 living around the capital but now the parrot, originally from India, could be in trouble for terrorising the trees and seeing off their domestic cousins. DEFRA has said it is working with the RSPB and it could give the go-ahead to a parakeet cull. Good shots of Parakeets.
