Israel Police raised the level of alert throughout the country to its highest level on Friday following Thursday's terror shooting at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in the capital in which eight yeshiva students were murdered by a lone terrorist, an Israeli Arab resident of the east Jerusalem village Jabel Mukaber. Security forces also beefed up their presence at checkpoints leading into the capital and increased patrols in Arab villages located on the outskirts of Jerusalem. Due to intelligence warnings that Moslem worshippers may attempt to cause disturbances following Friday prayers at the Temple Mount a heavy security presence was deployed inside the Old City and the streets of east Jerusalem. Police limited the acces of Moslem worshippers allowing males over the age of 45 with blue identity cards to enter the Temple Mount. No restrictions were placed on female worshippers.07/03/2008 Margot Dudkevitch Infolvie.,tv
