Mother's hit-and-run appeal

A mother has released a picture of her daughter, killed after a hit-and-run crash, in the hope of catching the driver. Susan Craen's issued the photograph of Abigail lying in a hospital bed following the collision in Birmingham. The twenty-year-old medical student was struck on a crossing in Edgbaston on Sunday. Abigail Craen, a medical student at Birmingham University, died two days after she was hit by a car near her halls of residence. Miss Craen, originally from Liss, Hampshire, was knocked over at around 5pm on Sunday in Pershore Road, Edgbaston. Police are still seeking witnesses to collision. Sergeant Colin Reynolds, of West Midlands Police, said: 'The vehicle involved would have a smashed window and damage to the front. 'We would again appeal for anyone who saw the vehicle before or after the incident to contact us as soon as possible.' Anyone with information is urged to contact the road policing unit at Woodbridge Road police station on 084 5113 5000.
