Mobile footage released of policeman being run over

Mobile phone footage of a police officer being run over in Greater Manchester has been released. Police were called to Partington Leisure Centre, Trafford, shortly before 2.30pm on Monday 19 October, after an alarm went off. Three men are thought to have been attempting to steal money from a security van parked outside. As they tried to make their escape in a black BMW, they appear to shunt a police van out of the way, apparently knocking an officer to the ground and then running him over. He was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, including a suspected broken ankle. Inquiries to trace the offenders are ongoing.
