Michel Barnier before the European Council of Laeken

Michel Barnier, member of the EC in charge of Regional Policy and Institutional Reform, stressed the importance of the discussion in the Summit of Laeken of defyning the goals of the Convention. Michel Barnier emphasised the necessity of questioning what we want to do together, before starting the discussion on European Defense or on Enlargement. He underlined the importance of the role of the President of the Convention, considering that the President will be the key player in the Convention animating discussions and interfacing with Heads of State and Government.
