Exchange student Meredith Kercher appeared in a music video shortly before she was murdered, it has emerged. The 21-year-old, who was sexually assaulted and killed in Perugia, Italy, had a cameo role in Some Say by the singer Kristian Leontiou. The Leeds University student, from Coulsdon, Surrey, was found dead in her bedroom in the cottage she shared with defendant Amanda Knox and two Italian girls on her year abroad in the Umbrian town. Her throat had been slit and her semi-naked body was partially covered by a duvet. In the video, Miss Kercher is seen walking through a door with eyes lowered, before glancing up at the camera. Francesco Maresca, the Kercher family lawyer, said: "The singer in the music video was a friend of Meredith's. I don't know exactly what the relationship was between the singer and Meredith, but I believe they were in the same group of friends." This weekend the court heard from Miss Kercher's relatives, who gave evidence as civil plaintiffs in a case running alongside the criminal trial. The Kercher family are seeking about £20 million in damages. Knox, who is due to begin giving evidence on Friday, is expected to address the court in both English and Italian.
