Mark Hughes has warned Manchester City fans that Premier League success will not happen overnight. City's results have so far not reflected the ambition of new owner Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a member of the Abu Dhabi royal family. They are currently in 13th place in the Barclays Premier League, just two points above the relegation zone, and they suffered a humiliating 3-0 FA Cup third round defeat at home to Nottingham Forest on Saturday. City face an important few weeks with matches against Wigan, Newcastle, Stoke and Middlesbrough following Saturday's trip to Portsmouth. Hughes hopes to strengthen his squad during that time with the addition of England left-back Wayne Bridge. But he said there will be no instant reversal of fortune for the blue half of Manchester. Hughe said: "It is not going to happen overnight but it is a long drawn-out process to make the club stronger. "It is still early days in the development of the team but we are going in the right direction. "Bridge is going to be a big part of what we do in the future."
