Madonna 'bonds' with Mercy James in London

The world's media has been staking out Madonna's London home hoping for a glimpse of newly-adopted daughter four-year-old Mercy James. The singer is said to be 'bonding' with her latest family member in Marylebone before jetting off to New York. Madonna was allowed to adopt Mercy from Malawi on June 12 after the southern African country's Supreme Court overturned a lower court ruling in April. Judges had previously said she could not adopt because she was not a resident. Rights groups have accused the government of giving Madonna special treatment and say the case would encourage foreigners to think they can adopt Malawian children at will. Mercy reportedly met her new siblings before Madonna sent eight-year-old Rocco and adopted three-year-old David Banda for a weekend with their dad Guy Ritchie.
