Ex-convoy driver Scotty Lee from Scotland has a mission to tackle the legacy and horrors of war through a universal language, that really is (as one of the film’s title’s suggests) Louder than Bombs! This film is an extraordinary journey and an adventure that takes you across the minefields, frontlines and through the brutal ethnic conflicts of the Balkans. Scotty Lee’s remarkable work with the ‘Spirit of Soccer’ program, teaching post-war youths not only to play soccer but also mine awareness and his universal message, which remains the same as it did back in the Balkan wars and wherever people play football or fight wars on the planet: “There’s one thing it takes to be a professional footballer – legs!”, proves that football is not just a way of life, but can actually help save life.
