London 2012 Olympic Games: National Lottery distributor warns other charities may lose funding

The biggest distributor of National Lottery funds has warned that charities will face a devastating impact, if - as expected - more money is diverted to pay for the London 2012 Olympics. The BIG Lottery Fund provides around GBP six hundred million to good causes each year - but may be asked to fund a large amount of the extra GBP 900 million needed to pay for building the Olympic Park. The Chairman of BIG has said that this would mean 86,000 grants to good causes being stopped.
