This "Best of" has been produced to illustrate the visit by Louis Michel, Member of the EC in charge of Development and Humanitarian Aid, to Tanzania and Burundi and to mark World Refugee Day. This was a joint mission with Antonio Guterres, UN High Commissioner for Refugees. The following pictures are featured: - in Tanzania: participation in various meetings, visit to the Mtabila camp, repatriation of refugees, meeting with the Mtabila and Muyovosi camp leaders, refugees before bording the boat at the port of Kigoma,Â… - in Burundi: meetings with Antoinette Batumubwira, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Burundi, with Charles Nqakula, Minister for Safety and Security of South Africa and main facilitator of the Burundi peace process, and with Pierre Nkurunzaza, Prime Minister of Burundi.
