Kym Marsh beats Katie Price to win Celebrity Mum of the Year

Coronation Street star Kym Marsh has been named this year's Celebrity Mum of the Year. The 33-year-old, who plays barmaid Michelle Connor in the ITV1 soap, is mother to David, 14, and Emily, 11. She beat the likes of Katie Price, David Cameron's wife Samantha and TV presenter Holly Willoughby. She said: "It is a real honour to get this award. It is nice to know I have got a lot of support out there, it has been a really difficult year. I have been a single parent in the past and I have had struggles so hopefully people still think I have done the best by my children." The actress had to cope with the death of her premature baby earlier this year. Speaking at the ceremony in Manchester, she also confirmed she is back together with former partner, ex-Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas. Previous winners of the award have included Sharon Osbourne, Kerry Katona and Melinda Messenger.
