Kylie Minogue to co-host Brits with Gavin & Stacey stars

Pop princess Kylie Minogue will present this year's Brit awards, organisers have announced. The Locomotion singer will be joined by Gavin and Stacey actors James Corden and Matthew Horne. Among the stars appearing on the night will be Kings of Leon, Duffy and Girls Aloud. Last week it was announced U2 will also be performing at the awards which are being held at London's Earls Court on February 18. Among the acts tipped for success are Coldplay, who released their fourth studio album, Viva la Vida or Death And All His Friends, this year. Once the nominations for the 11 awards have been announced, pop fans can vote for their favourite British single, live act and breakthrough act from the shortlists. The best British single will be decided on the night by a live telephone vote. The Brits Academy, made up of 1,000 invited music industry insiders and critics, decide on the remaining eight awards. Chairman of The Brits Committee Ged Doherty said: "With performances from U2 and Pet Shop Boys already confirmed, the addition of Girls Aloud, Duffy and Kings Of Leon to the bill means we are heading towards a truly special Brits this year. They will see the Pet Shop Boys pick up an award for their outstanding contribution to music. Last year's big winners were Take That, who scooped best live act and best British single.
