British success in Hollywood has continued with Slumdog Millionaire and Kate Winslet picking up gongs at the Screen Actors Guild Awards. The 33-year-old actress said she was "lost for words" as she picked up a gong in Los Angeles for best supporting actress, while Indian actor Anil Kapoor said the success of Slumdog Millionaire was "unbelievable". But Winslet did not have it all her own way - she missed out on the title of best leading actress to Meryl Streep. Eyes will now turn to next month's Oscars. Both Slumdog Millionaire and Winslet have been nominated for an Academy Award. Winslet's accolade comes on the back of successes at the Critic's Choice Awards and the Golden Globes - where she picked up the titles of best actress in a drama for her role in Revolutionary Road and best supporting actress for The Reader. At the glittering ceremony at the Shrine Auditorium in LA, Winslet said: "What a year it has been. It is really an honour to be included in such a remarkable year and be acknowledged by my peers in this way." Meanwhile, Slumdog Millionaire - which tells the story of an orphan in Mumbai who becomes champion on the Indian version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? - continued its storming start to 2009 by picking up the title of best cast. After winning awards at both the Critic's Choice and the Golden Globes, it can now expect to add to its collection at the Oscars, having been nominated for ten categories. Dev Patel, the 18-year-old British star of Slumdog Millionaire, was nominated for the best supporting actor title, but lost out to the late actor Health Ledger.
